10 in a ROW!
Well, the streak has reached double digits. 10 in a row, with Harden, Duchscherer Thomas, Kotsay, Bradley and Ellis all injured to some extent. 6 of the more important pieces of the 2006 A's squad down, and they win 10 in a row. I don't mind seeing Melhuse and Scutaro out there. It is a funny life for those guys, they sit for weeks or months getting very little playing time but then someone goes down and they are in there every day. It seems like pretty quick the A's are going to need another outfielder. Maybe Bradley or Kotsay are ok to play now, but they didn't seem to be over the weekend. I might give those 2 a little more time and either bring someone up, or make a minor move. It is a time like this that it would be nice to have Eric Byrnes around. But Eric Byrnes is only a marginally good starting outfielder and if he can't play every day here, it is nice he can play every day in Arizona. There must be some disgruntled outfielder out there either in the bigs or AAA who could give us some innings. It scares me a little to have Kielty out there every day. But on the other hand, you could do worse there too.
